Hello World Live // Meeting Poppy Deyes and Zoella!

Hiya Everyone!

I'm just going to jump straight into this and crack on with the post because I am so excited and if I don't start writing, I think my fingers may explode.

So, 2 days ago - Sunday 29th October 2017 - I was lucky enough to be able to attend Hello World Live at the Genting Arena in Birmingham.

What is Hello World, I hear you ask?

Well, it was described as "an epic, immersive, live show like nothing on Earth!" - it was an event featuring some of the most well-known YouTube content creators in the country - and it was fab!

Back in June sometime (I think), I received a phone call from my Best Friend, Megan. She explained (rather excitedly) that this thing called Hello World Live had been announced and it was featuring all of our favourite YouTubers! At this point, I was VERY interested, and when I asked who had been announced on the line-up, I knew I HAD to be there.

Literally every single one of my favourite content creators on YouTube were going to be at this event - Zoella, PointlessBlog (Alfie Deyes), Thatcher Joe (Joe Sugg), Louise Pentland, Caspar Lee, Marcus Butler, Jim Chapman, KSI - I just knew that this event was going to be amazing, whatever it was.

In the next breath, Megan says to me "I'm getting tickets in the morning, would you like one?" and I swear I almost pee'd with excitement. Obviously I said (well, screamed) yes and she said that she would let me know the following morning whether she managed to get hold of some tickets. Omg, that night was unbearable. I was so restless because of the anticipation - I don't really remember if I got much sleep or not.

Fast forward to the next morning - I got up, got ready for work and had breakfast like normal and then made my way off to work. I think I was a nervous wreck at this point because all morning I had been flitting between "OMG I'M GOING TO HELLO WORLD" and "it's sold out, I'm not going" - I knew that tickets didn't go on sale until 9am so I knew that there was still a chance.

Anyway, skipping forward, a couple of hours later, a message popped up on my phone. It was from Megan. I didn't want to open it because I was so nervous. But I took a deep breath, gritted my teeth and opened the message - WE WERE GOING TO HELLO WORLD! I was at work at this point so I had to very quickly compose myself and contain my excitement. Gotta be professional y'know.

So anyway, after I'd calmed down, it was time to start counting down the days to Hello World Live!

My Hello World Ticket! :D

When October finally arrived, Megan and I could hardly contain our excitement! We were constantly messaging each other like "Omg, Hello World is this month!" or "only 1 more week to go until Hello World!"

Finally, the day arrived and I was absolutely buzzing!! Megan moved away from my town last year, so I met her and her boyfriend Adam in Birmingham. On the short walk to the venue, there was just a mass of Sugg Life hoodies! Seeing everyone wearing those just made it all the more exciting. We were queuing outside the venue, knowing that we were so close to all of our favourite YouTubers - buzzing didn't cut it.

When we finally were through security and inside, it was a short while until the actual arena opened so we just grabbed some pizza to kill the time.

THEN IT WAS TIME TO GO IN.

The moment we had been waiting months for was finally upon us. I don't know how Megan and I didn't wet ourselves haha. We walked in, and it all became real.

The Hello World sign that greeted you as you walked through the doors into the arena! :)

When you walked in, you were on the Hello World Main Street that was a big road down the middle of the arena (that even had a musical piano on it!) with fake grass and benches and clouds and a sun. Around the edges of Main Street, were different stations such as a cinema, bakery, a school, a cosmetics shop, a book store where signings were taking place, Zoella's Zen Garden which was like Winter Wonderland (unfortunately we didn't manage to go inside though), a giant working arcade game which played Streetfighter and a sofa where live interviews were taking place.
Also, not forgetting the main stage with the big emoji house!

All in all, it was such a fab day - we had a insight into the worlds of our favourite YouTubers, and the main highlight of the day was meeting Zoella and Poppy Deyes!!

The gang (Alfie Deyes, Jim Chapman, Mark Ferris, Zoella, Poppy Deyes and Shaun Elliott) were stood on the giant arcade doing a Q&A with the audience.

We were stood at the side of the stage, so only managed to get side-view pictures! But here is Alfie, Jim, Mark, Zoe, Poppy and Shaun :)
Afterwards, Alfie was ushered off as he had to go to a signing, but Mark, Zoe and Poppy stayed behind to meet the fans and take pictures with them. They were brilliant and took their time to ensure that as many people got pictures as possible - and we were 3 of the lucky ones who did!!

This was the absolute icing on the cake of the whole day - I have looked up to Zoella for years now and she is one of my biggest inspirations so managing to meet her and get a picture with her was just amazing!!

The rest of the day was just as brilliant, we saw Marcus Butler and KSI battle it out on Streetfighter, we saw Louise Pentland (another huge inspiration of mine) give a demonstration on slime making and then shortly after that, it was time for the main show!

The main show was really exciting and entertaining - several of the YouTubers had their own segments in the show. It kicked off with Joe, Caspar, Jim, Alfie and Marcus entering the arena in a Volkswagen camper van and then Marcus kicked it off with his game called Wheel-of-Vom where he asked the contestants (Louise, Alfie, Jim, Caspar, Joe and Tyler Oakley) some preeettyyyy awkward questions, and if they either didn't answer, or lied, then they had to eat something disgusting! If they answered truthfully, then Marcus had to eat something gross!

Afterwards, Oli White did a 'Very Slimy Game Show' which was great! It ended with Tom Daley and Josh Pieters getting slimed! Then Joe showed us some pranks he had set up backstage, KSI did a live set and Louise did some stand-up comedy. The show closed with The Vamps playing some live music which was really fun (although not my preferred type of music).

Our wristbands :)

It was such a great day and I was really sad when it was time to leave :( When I got home, the first thing I did was turn on YouTube and start watching some vlogs from my faves!

Anyway, I thought I'd tell you all about my day at Hello World and share some photos that I got on the day :)

I shall see you very soon with another post!
