So - A little while ago, I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Watford, near London.
If you know me personally, you will know that I am legit the biggest Harry Potter fan - I absolutely love the wizarding world, and at 23 years old, I am still convinced that something terrible must have happened to the owl that was assigned the task of delivering my Hogwarts letter! (lol, jokes! - 😳)
For anybody that doesn't know, the Harry Potter Studio Tour is exactly what it says on the tin! Once filming had concluded of the Harry Potter franchise, Warner Bros. turned Leavesden Studios, where the movies were filmed, into a live tour that fans could go and visit and see first-hand where all of the magic happened! It's got a lot of original sets such as the Great Hall, Privet Drive, the Ministry of Magic, Diagon Alley and it displays all of the original props and costumes that were used and worn in the films. It also shows you how certain scenes were made and brings all of the magical creatures to life and there is also a magical surprise right at the end of the tour 💓 (which leaves me absolutely awestruck. Every. Single. Time)
I have actually been to the Studios twice already, but my Dad and Stepmum told me that as soon as they saw that the Forbidden Forest had been added, they instantly knew that I would HAVE to go, so they very kindly bought me 2 tickets for my 23rd birthday! I almost pee'd with excitement when I opened them 🙈
So anyway, the next day, I phoned Warner Bros. Studio Tour and booked a slot to go and visit the studios again! I decided to take my partner, Rob, as he is also a huge Harry Potter fan (not as huge as me though! 😂🙈) Our slot was at 10:30am and I was almost bursting on the drive down because I just could not wait to get there (sounds silly, I know because I've been before!) But still, it was exciting for me, and I was really excited to see the Forbidden Forest as well.
I am going to be posting pictures from inside the studio tour, so if you would prefer not to see them, please scroll straight to the bottom as I do appreciate that not everyone would like to see pictures as it may ruin it slightly for them (although, the photos do not even come close to the true magic of the tour!)

I'm not going to go into huge details of what's inside, as I don't want to ruin it for anyone who would like to go and hasn't been yet, but I just really wanted to share a few details and photos of the day that I had whilst there!

I really cannot describe how overwhelming this place is for someone who is a complete Potterhead, like myself.
It's astounding to see all of the sets and costumes and props that you've grown up watching in the cinema and on DVD - being able to walk through the Great Hall and Diagon Alley is just the most magical feeling.
I've pretty much said everything that I want to say, as I don't want to give too much away, as I said before so I think I'm going to just leave some photos for you to look at, if you wish to do so. If not, feel free to scroll straight down to the bottom. (For some reason, all of my photos are coming out absolutely huge - if anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know 😂)

If you are thinking of attending the tour, I will just point out that you do need to purchase tickets in advance - you can't just turn up on the day and be granted admission as only a certain amount of entries can be granted for each time slot. Also, only a very small part of the tour is actually guided, once you are inside, you can spend as long as you would like in each section looking at all of the props and costumes and taking in every little bit of magicalness! (is that even a word?!)
But yeah, all in all, it was a really fab day and I highly recommend that you visit the Harry Potter studios if you are a fan - or even if you're not! 😂 I cannot put into words the pure magic of the whole place, it really is something to be experienced first-hand. Thank you so much for taking the time to read through my post and I will see you all again very soon with another!

I went for the 2nd time last year. As it was my birthday, I got to open the doors to the great hall. I was like a little kid! And the first time I reached the end of the tour I cried it was so beautiful x
ReplyDeleteAwww, that's amazing! 😁 I think it's great that they let you open the doors, that must have been so magical! ❤️ Oh I know, the end gets me every time - absolutely stunning! Xx
